From September 1 to October 4, Josef Montag, assistant Professor of the leading University of the Czech Republic, Charles University, visited Satbayev University. Dr Montag works in the Economics Department of the faculty of law of Charles University in Prague. Josef Montag is a specialist in economics and economic applications in law. He has a number of publications in international peer-reviewed journals such as Energy Policy, Journal of Public Health, Journal of Quantitative Criminology and others. He gave a lecture course “Introduction to R for Data analysis and visualization” for undergraduates, master and doctoral students and presented the capabilities of the R program for data analysis. This course is particularly useful for students of the New School of Economics majoring in Mathematical Economics and data analysis. Also on October 3, Josef Montag held a research seminar for the faculty “Air pollution, avoidance behavior, and newborns ‘health”, in which he talked about the upcoming experiment in which the influence of PM 2.5 particles on the health of children will be investigated, as well as how risk awareness affects human behavior.
